Sophie is an experienced employment lawyer with a background in advising large commercial and public sector clients, having previously worked for a city firm. She advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, and provides clear and pragmatic advice to clients to help find solutions that balance both legal and commercial requirements.

She advises on a broad range of employment law issues including grievances, disciplinary issues, long term sickness, employee status, restrictive covenants, restructuring and redundancy, outsourcing, agency workers and TUPE. She also frequently deals with a variety of data protection queries including GDPR-compliance issues and data subject access requests.

She assists both employers and employees with Employment Tribunal claims, including advising on complex, high profile and high value claims.

Sophie drafts and/or advise on all types of employment-related documentation including employment contracts, director’s service agreements, policies and procedures, employee handbooks, privacy notices, consultancy agreements and settlement agreements. She also writes employment law updates for clients and articles for local publications as well as regularly presenting seminars on a variety of employment law issues.
