MUNDAYS 10th ANNIVERSARY FUN RUN FOR LOCAL HOSPICE RAISES OVER £4.3K.

Elmbridge-based law firm Mundays has raised over £4.3k following its tenth 5k run in aid of Princess Alice Hospice. This brings the total amount that the Mundays 5K has raised for the Hospice over £50,000 in the ten years of running.

Princess Alice Hospice, based in Esher, is a charity which provides free end-of-life care to adults in a large part of Surrey, South West London and Middlesex, whilst supporting their friends and families free of charge.

The race took place in Bushy Park, Hampton on Wednesday 10th May 2017, bringing together both local and corporate runners for the anniversary event. After a few years of cold weather on race day, the sun shone which fitted with the introduction of a Hawaiian theme adding to the fun.

The winning man was Ollie Garrod from BDO in a time of 16 minutes 07 seconds. The winning woman was Victoria Barthelmess from BP Run Club in a time of 19 minutes 02 seconds. The winning team was BP Run Club, Anthony Bourne, Charlie Rickett and Victoria Barthelmess.

Valerie Toon, Managing Partner at Mundays, said: “2017 is the 10th anniversary of our annual event and has gone from strength to strength each year and one that we will continue with. It is great for Mundays to be able to give something back to a charity that does so much to provide vital support to local people. The annual race will return next year for an 11th year.”

Mia Patterson, from Princess Alice Hospice, added: “This year Mundays 5k Fun Run has been supporting us for a decade and have helped to raise over £50,000 during that time, which is phenomenal. For the second year running, we entered a team in their charity 5km Fun Run in Bushy Park; 13 members of staff and volunteers donned their Hospice t-shirts for the challenge and soaked up the sunshine and the atmosphere.

Last year it cost £9.3 million to provide our vital, high quality care, free of charge, and we can only do it with the continuing support and commitment of our communities and companies like Mundays.”
