Mundays has for many years prided itself in offering comprehensive, hands-on training to quality applicants who aspire to develop into the solicitors and partners of the future. We regard it as being in our trainees’ interests just as much as ours to ensure that, in the course of their training contract, they are given the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as they merit.
As a result, we are extremely pleased that Mundays was nominated for the award of Best Trainer-Medium Regional firm at the LawCareers.Net Training and Recruitment Awards from 2012 to 2016 and again in 2018. In addition, our former Training Principal Stephen Morris was proud to be nominated in 2014 and 2018 for the award for Best Training Principal - Small Trainee Intake. These nominations were based on feedback surveys from our current trainees in each year. These nominations acknowledge the high quality of the training on which we pride ourselves.
The Lex 100 also announced Mundays as a winner in the Client Contact category where trainees 'feel like part of the team - rather than a small cog' and also a winner in the Work/Life Balance category. The Lex 100 2016/17 survey consisted of anonymous responses gathered from over 3,000 trainees at 173 law firms across the UK.
Trainees typically spend periods of six months in each of four different departments, sharing a room with a partner or senior solicitor so that they can observe exactly how the job is done and have the opportunity to learn from day one. Trainees also have the opportunity to work for other fee earners so that they are exposed to a wide range of specialisms and working styles in their department.
Trainees’ performance and progress is monitored through their training contract, with regular feedback sessions and more formal appraisals, giving both us and the trainees the opportunity to address any matters of concern and assist in the building of the trainees’ careers towards qualification and beyond.
So far as possible, we aim to accommodate the wishes of trainees to gain experience of any particular specialist area in which we practise. Trainees are encouraged to take on responsibility from the beginning of their training through direct experience of dealing with matters and working alongside fee-earners.
We welcome applications from anyone who has achieved (or expects to achieve) a 2.1 degree in their chosen subject. We accept applications from law and non-law graduates. We also ordinarily require you to have achieved AAB (or the equivalent) at A Level.
We are looking for individuals with personality and confidence who will be able to work well with everyone at Mundays. You should not be frightened of hard work, while at the same time have a rounded personality and outside interests which will help you to achieve a balance in your life.
Our trainees are paid a competitive salary. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package which includes Mundays Rewards, private medical insurance, a contributory pension scheme with employer-matched contributions between 3-5% and life insurance at 3x salary.
Thank you for your interest in our training contracts.
We will be accepting applications for training contracts commencing September 2020 from the end of April 2018.
