Employee Stories

Below are a few examples of what some of our team say about working at Mundays.

Senior Associate, Property

What attracted you about working at Mundays?

I moved to the local area some 6 years ago and researched law firms operating in the area. I was struck by the calibre of clients Mundays acted for and I kept my eye on the firm until the opportunity arose to join.

What’s good about our location?

For me, it is very close to home as I live in Effingham. The office also benefits from good travel links via the A3, M25 and rail network. Mundays is part of the community in Cobham, rather than just an occupier of office space that could be located anywhere in the Country.

How would you describe the work-life balance?

Client demands vary day to day, I am usually able to balance home life (3 kids under 6) and work life well, especially given the mobile IT and remote access portal.

How would you describe the culture?

Mundays has a very inclusive and friendly culture underlying a professional and results-focused approach.

How would you describe the work that you do and the clients that you work with?

The work is often challenging, which is a good thing. Also, the clients are invariably well-versed in corporate and commercial matters and are therefore able to give clear instructions, making our job easier.

What’s good about the training and development opportunities here at Mundays and what does Mundays do to help you fulfil your career aspirations?

I can only speak for Property, which department has a diverse and thorough CPD timetable of webinars and seminars delivered by well-respected external and internal providers. There is a clear set of criteria for each role within the firm and a wealth of new instructions coming from client. Those factors make career progression a realistic proposition.

Solicitor, Family

What attracted you about working at Mundays?

The reputation of the family team as being top ranked in Chambers and the reputation of the partners in the team for family law work.

What’s good about our location?

There’s parking and it is really close to the A3 and a pleasant and short walk into town

How would you describe the work-life balance?

Good. My team are really flexible in terms of the working day and it is great to be able to take your hour for lunch anytime within a 2 hour period. The firm really emphasise the importance of health and wellbeing and we have had a series of months focusing on different aspects of this which included talks from a nutritionist, physiotherapist and stress management. It seems like the firm really cares about its employees.

How would you describe the culture?

Really supportive and encouraging. The people in my team are really nice which makes for a great working environment and I look forward to coming into work to see my colleagues.

How would you describe the work that you do and the clients that you work with?

Very high quality, interesting work and high net worth clients

What’s good about the training and development opportunities here at Mundays and what does Mundays do to help you fulfil your career aspirations?

This is one of the things I like best about Mundays- in my appraisal my boss asked me if I would be interested in training as a mediator- something I had begged my old firm to let me do for years. I am also going to do Specialist Training. There is a real focus on training and also the library is absolutely excellent. If we need a book- we get it. We have fabulous access to online resources. It has also been really supportive of me being on the Committee of Resolution Surrey.
